The Flow Probe was designed for hydrological flow measurements in streams, rivers, canals, storm water, wastewater, inflow & infiltration studies, and industrial process waters.
Applications include: stormwater runoff studies, sewer flow measurements, measuring flows in rivers and streams, and monitoring water velocity in ditches and canals.
Key Benefits Unique to Flow Probe:
Designed to shed debris while protected inside a 2-inch diameter housing, the probe uses the most accurate positive displacement technique available for velocity sensing. Its rugged housing may be placed directly on the bottom of a pipe or streambed for measuring low flows down to 2 inches in depth. The Turbo-Prop is easily removed for cleaning or replacement.
Three telescoping range options are available from 3 ft to 14 ft (see specification sheet for details) for highly-accurate, easy flow monitoring. Its lightweight handle is constructed of anodized aluminum and designed with a mylar-coated staff gauge for instant water depth measurements and accurate propeller positioning.
Water Velocity Computer
Easily view velocity readings on the LCD screen. Store up to 30 sets of data points and view them on the computer screen at your leisure. Its water-resistant housing incorporates a unique four-button operation for changing functions and resetting the display in the field.
True Velocity Averaging
Collect highly-accurate flow measurements at a rate of one reading per second, while viewing the continuous average water velocity on the display. Busy in the field? No problem—easily save these readings and view them at a later time.
Rotate and Reach
Rotate the flow probe’s Turbo-Prop to + 90 degrees from its standard position—allowing velocity measurements in hard-to-measure areas such as vertical pipes on water tanks or swimming pool drainage systems.
Flow Direction Error Correction
The Flow Probe’s Alignment Fin is designed to help orient the probe parallel to flow when the end of the probe can’t be seen well due to the depth or cloudiness of the water.
